Long Beach, NY - Long Beach has certainly faced its ups and downs over the years, but the people have grown to look adversity in the eye and make the best of even the most challenging times. This year has been particularly challenging as many of the City’s scheduled events were been canceled due to the pandemic, but the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the City of Long Beach and the Long Beach Arts Council came up with a safe a festive way to demonstrate the spirit of the people of Long Beach.


We are proud to announce the City’s first drive-thru Halloween House and Balcony Decorating Contest in concert with its weekend, Beyond The Beach Fall Celebration. This community-wide event will provide residents and visitors the opportunity to safely celebrate “all things fall” in a City traditionally known for Summer activities.


From Friday, October 23rd through Sunday, October 25th Long Beach residents, businesses, and its arts community will transform the City into a magical fall-themed wonderland where folks of all ages can safely enjoy the offerings of the City by the Sea.


At 6:00 PM on Friday, a digital map of the City will be made available to all who want to participate in the drive-thru festivities. It will list all of the houses and balconies entered into the contest, along with a listing of all the Long Beach businesses entered into the Storefront Window Display contest.


Visitors and residents alike will be brought through the unique neighborhoods of Long Beach and vote on the Chamber’s Facebook page for their favorites in the following categories:








The city has an All-Star judges panel made up of local Long Beach celebrities and a Kids Judging Panel. Both panels will vote on “Judges’ Favorite” category for residential and businesscategories.


There is also an option to view photos of the entries online. Winners will be announced on October 31st. Prizes generously donated by local Long Beach businesses range from gift cards, apparel, and even a one night stay at the beautiful oceanfront Allegria Hotel.

And to sweeten the deal, local Long Beach businesses are offering a number of Steals & Dealsthroughout the weekend under the following categories:

● A Shoppers Fall Crawl at Participating Retail Businesses

● Takeouts & Trials at Participating Eateries and Watering Holes

● Arts Around The City - See Temporary Art Installations by Local Long Beach Artists andEnjoy Pop-Up Performances by Traveling Minstrels


Measuring only 3.5 square miles in size, no other community on Long Island can provide so much BOO for your buck.


The weekend activities bring the entire Long Beach community together to give participants a truly unique experience.

“Halloween is my favorite holiday. I was sad that we couldn’t celebrate it like we always do, butnow I am so excited to see all the scary Halloween houses and windows. It’s going to beSpooktacular, ” said Reilly La Ferlita , age nine (9) and Halloween virtuoso.


The safety and well-being of visitors and residents is the City’s first priority. For the safety of ourspectators and homeowners, all are strongly urged to stay in their vehicles when viewing thecontest entries. We encourage everyone in the City of Long Beach to wear a mask and extendthe courtesy to those around you by keeping at a safe, social distance.
